Delahey

Delahey is a recent residential area, with transmission towers in the south-east and a population of under 10,000. Settlement of the area dates from the mid 1800s, when the land was mainly used for farming. Significant development did not occur until the mid 1980s and rapid growth continued into the 1990s. This attractive little suburb is still relatively unknown, with a population under 9,000, but more growth is expected as more people hear of its laidback country lifestyle and convenient location only 20 km from Melbourne’s CBD.

Major features of the area include Delahey Recreation Reserve, Delahey Village Shopping Centre, the National Broadcasting Agency Radio Masts and two schools. It is surrounded by Taylors Hill, Taylors Lakes, Sydenham and Keilor Downs so has a huge variety of schools, public transport, shopping centres, restaurants and parks within proximity.
